About The CheatCode

About Our Program

The CheatCode is a mentorship and training program designed to bridge the gap between ambition and opportunity in IT and cybersecurity. We’ve built a thriving community where students gain the hands-on skills, guidance, and confidence needed to launch and grow their careers.

Since 2021, The CheatCode has helped students earn over $4 million in combined salaries. Our graduates now work across:

  • Big Tech companies like AWS
  • Big Four consulting firms
  • The Federal Government
  • Major banks and financial institutions

But The CheatCode is more than training—it’s a family committed to mentorship, accountability, and excellence in tech.

Our Founder’s Journey

The CheatCode was founded by Jaquan Thorne, a proud graduate of the Washington, DC–based Hope Project. Jaquan began his career in IT as a support analyst and steadily climbed into cybersecurity leadership, gaining experience in incident response, security engineering, and governance, risk & compliance (GRC).

What began as helping close friends break into cybersecurity quickly turned into a passion for lifting up his community. In 2021, Jaquan set a bold goal: help students achieve a combined $1 million in salaries. That milestone was achieved—and today, The CheatCode has surpassed $4 million in student success stories.

Jaquan’s journey reflects what The CheatCode stands for: turning ambition into achievement, and making the path into IT and cybersecurity accessible for everyone.
